“All of us are paying a price for this home mortgage crisis”
President Obama unveiled an ambitious mortgage relief plan worth $75 Billion to keep almost 9 million Americans from losing their homes to foreclosure. He said the battered economy needs stemming the continuing tide of foreclosures. The housing crunch that started last year influenced so many other reasons that has lead the current economic situation and extreme recession
The plan was announced in Arizona which got the highest housing crisis. Obama said, “In the end, all of us are paying a price for this home mortgage crisis and all of us will pay an even steeper price if we allow this crisis to deepen”. Clearly, he foresee the impact of this widening recession and to keep it barred he announced the mortgage relief plan worth of $75 Billion to save 9 million homeowners.
The economy has declined badly due to the widening recession and the housing crisis is even worst. According to Moody’s Economy, in the United States around 52 million homeowners with a mortgage about 13.8 million which is almost 27%, owe the mortgage more than their house is worth now. Obama’s plan aims to keep 7 to 9 million people from foreclosure out of 52 millions. However, taking an initiative is good enough to stabilize homeowners by a simple rule that is cutting down monthly payments to sustainable level being not more than 31% of homeowner’s income. Funding for this mortgage relief plan implementation will come from the %700 billion financial bailout package passed out by congress last fall.
